The last week of August 2025 was spent in Japan at the Awagami Papermaking Workshop making washi paper from kozo fibers. It's a quite laborious process, but veru rewarding once you make the finished paper. At the workshop we also learned Japanese-style bookbinding and indigo and sekkazome dyeing. It was quite an experience and one I highly recommend.
