Highlight of the month was a visit to Olney Gallery at Trinity Cathedral to view the photography of Cyd Peroni from her series titled Even the Poles Move.
Cyd Peroni's Website: Three Figs Villa September 2025 The political world in the U.S. continues its crazy spiral. I spent the last week of August in Japan at the Awagami Papermaking Workshop making washi paper from kozo fibers. It's a quite laborious process, but veru rewarding once you make the finished paper. At the workshop we also learned Japanese-style bookbinding and indigo and sekkazome dyeing. It was quite an experience and one I highly recommend. See some photos of the workshop on the right. August 2025 is continuing the summer heat with Extreme Heat Warnings and daytime temperatures in the 38-48C (100-118F) range; nighttime temperatures in the 24-35C (76-95F) range. But it's a dry heat. This will be a good month to stay inside and update this website's under construction pages. This page will be updated on a monthly basis with items I find of interest that may or may not have anything to do with any of the other pages of this site. Stay tuned for more to come. |
